Asked Wong what time it was going to start and he said "3pm sharp", and I said "Sharp your head la..." and he said "I'm serious"
Finally, the show started with This Sunday first up. As always, I loved their show, and I actually felt in technical judgment that this was one of the best I heard of them so far. The acoustics of the place and the equipments mushed well together and the songs they played were all my favourites mehehe. Loved what they did with Unwilled and Never Look Back Down.
Was disappointed with the crowd, though there were little people, if everybody stood up, the space would at least have been filled a little bit, and made the gig seem a lot more worth it. Next up was Massacre Conspiracy, which got us moving just a lliiittttleee bit more. But still. Lame crowd. MC-wise, they were tight, and I was again, blown away by the vocalist who looks innocent but the range of screams/growls impressed beyond his looks haha. Just like Firdoz Daarchlea a.k.a Satan (hahaha self-created nickname). Except Daarchlea of course is more 'woahhhhh'. XD
After them, a long pause gave way to The Padangs, again a familiar band to us all, and we amused ourselves with Ax's crabcore movements as he pulled his bass behind him and crawled like a crab. HAHAHA. Tu la namanye ketam-mosh. xD Good sound, energetic performance, and a strong set. Kudos.
And finally, one of the bands I've been looking forward to catching: Incarnation. This was another reason that surprised me; this was the first show in 2010 by Incarnation and the crowd was so little? Absolutely... mind-boggling. Hm. Anyway, an aweeeesome set, they got some people head-banging like crazy and I just loved watching the guitarist. Hot. Hahahaha. :P Psht. Liked their new tune "Ruined" (we heard "Ruin" and went "Lamb of god much...." HAHAHA). We had a super-mini wall of death, which basically consisted of I dunno... a handful of people? *sigh* Apart from that though, amazing.
Next up were Singaporean youngsters, A Vacant Affair. And I have to say.... what.a.friggin'.good.band. I've heard of them before this and seen their page somewhere (or maybe their name on some flyer the last time I went to Singapore) but I was blown away. Especially because of the drummeerrrrrrr and the charisma of the vocalist. He was all... jerky and Hinder/Finch-like in terms of movements. Haha. You know, the wrist held up and back bent, and all these awkward stances. But it was lovely to watch. It was almost hypnotising. And not to mention, their music was. Good. It don't matter if you don't fit in guys, you guys are awesome enough.
Paused for a while to head to the T-shirt booth with Linda and then with Moe to meet Cris, a friend of my cousin's, who came to catch his homegrown band (Typecast). Headed back to the crowd for Love Me Butch, and it was only during this set when the crowd actually voluntarily filled up without having to be called up by Wong (who ended up being the MC haha!). And hell, were they good. Another non-disappointing show by LMB. They played new and old songs, and my already aching neck from Shai Hulud ached even more after their set when I headbanged like crazy LOL. Was really glad because I could finally screammmm into the microphone to 'Reconcile'. Wheehoo! Was surprised to see Apeq (Restraint) playing for them as well hehe.
And finally. TYPECAST!
A fine start, with a plunge into a post-rock like atmosphere, with amazing effects from the guitar. After the first song, I shouted "Maring Salamat" (or however the f you spell it), causing them to laugh haha. Ni barulah entertaining bhai. But I think the vocalist was drunk or something, I couldn't catch a word of his mumbling. XD
They ended their set with a feature with A Vacant Affair's vocalist, which added an exotic flavour to their set, a huge thumbs up to them for thinking of doing this. :) Good job guys, was an amazing event. Only the crowd screwed it up.
.... It started after 5pm. LOL
Headed inside and saw Fahmy sitting in the dark, shivering under the AC, haha. Sat inside to avoid the heat outside and watched The Padangs and This Sunday soundcheck. Looked around as wondered why the venue was so empty; everyone was expecting a packed crowd.
apaaa dorng wt ni...

They played a lot of songs, like... a lot, but I was not bored by them. Just stood there, head-bobbing to their songs, closing my eyes at the more ethereal parts when they dipped to a lower atmosphere from their screaming/raging parts. They were extremely tight, but the sound system for their set seemed to have gone a bit array. Ah well. I loved the drummer for them too, he was extremely... small... and... active. HAHA. He was attacking the drums with all his might man, it was... so... passionate.

Celine can't wait for the next show.
